DESCRIPTION:This incredible fireworks display consists of over 300 aerial shells\, ranging in diameter from three to eight inches. The show is an Independence Day blast (pun intended) that’s sure to impress. Fireworks begin at approximately 10 p.m. at Harney and 22nd Street. \nTune your radio to Hits 106 to hear the soundtrack that goes with the fireworks show.  Please note that streaming audio is delayed so the best listening experience will be live over the air broadcast. \nThe City of Laramie partners with WyoTech to bring this exciting fireworks show to the community. In addition to sponsorship\, WyoTech students and staff volunteer their time to help make the event big and bright for all. From cleanup after the show to participating in the 4th of July festivities\, it’s a great way for WyoTech students to connect with the Laramie community. \nTo enjoy the 4th of July to the fullest while still respecting residential neighborhoods\, the City reminds eventgoers to follow event parking guidelines. As you plan and prepare for the day\, note where you should park for Freedom Has a Birthday and Fire in the Sky. 22nd Street from Harney to Willet will be closed during the show\, as well as Harney from Television Road to 22nd\, Armory Road from 30th to 22nd\, and Television Road from Harney to Armory. The City recommends Kiowa Park\, Scout Park\, Washington Park\, and LaPrele Park as some of the better viewing areas in town.

You can register on UltraSignup (https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=113687) until May 25th. Race day registration will not be available this year\, so make sure to register in advance through UltraSignup.\n\nAbout Pilot Hill 25K:\nThe Pilot Hill 25K Classic is the oldest continuously run footrace in Wyoming. The race has its roots back in the 1970’s when a group of local runners and university cross country team members decided to begin their summer training by racing from Laramie to the top of Pilot Hill and back down. At that time\, trail running was a “fringe sport” — the running boom that was sweeping the nation was confined primarily to the roads. Pilot Hill tries to hold true to its roots–by providing a “down home” race that won’t break the bank while celebrating the sport that all of us love.\nThe Pilot Hill Race is run on rugged two-track and single track trails. It crosses sandy flats\, runs over some low grade hills\, and climbs up (and descends down) some pretty gnarly weathered limestone. The top of Pilot Hill (at 8600 ft) is one of the highest points in the Sherman Mountains (Laramie Range) that sits east of the town of Laramie. From the top\, you will be greeted by views of the Laramie Valley and across to the west to the Snowy Range of the Medicine Bow Mountains\, and to the south in Colorado: the Rawahs and Front Range.\nFollowing the race\, relax at the finish line and enjoy food and refreshments – don’t forget a camp chair!\nProceeds from this event will be donated to Pilot Hill Inc.\nSee you in June
