DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to join in National Wreaths Across America Day\, December 16\, to help place wreaths on Veteran graves at Laramie’s Greenhill Cemetery. This year\, the Jacques Laramie Chapter Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) joined with VFW Post 2221\, WyoTech\, other Laramie Businesses and organizations and countless individual donors to raise funds to purchase 1\,000 wreaths to place on graves. Opening ceremonies begin at 11 am at the GAR monument followed by laying of the wreaths. Arrangements were made for the wreaths to be placed at Arlington National Cemetery. The placement of wreaths on gravesites acknowledges the empty space at so many family tables representing a veteran who has been lost\, and honors their service to this nation. DESCRIPTION:The City of Laramie is pleased to invite you to the 6th annual Touch a Truck event held June 17th at the Laramie Recreation Center and Ice & Event Center parking lots. This is a FREE family-friendly event\, giving children the opportunity to get up close and personal to some of Laramie’s big trucks. The first 250 children attending the event will receive a free t-shirt and many businesses will be handing out toys\, books and goodies for attendees. The City of Laramie Fire Department and Laramie Police Department are just a few to be joining the event with their fire trucks and police vehicles. So be sure to stop by between 10am-1pm to enjoy some family fun.
