As the holiday season comes to an end\, the organization aims to address the post-New Year’s challenge of disposing of live trees\, which\, after 5 weeks\, pose a significant fire hazard. \nFor a modest donation of $10\, residents can effortlessly part ways with their festive conifers by leaving them on the curb. Laramie Interfaith’s dedicated partners will then collect these trees and ensure their eco-friendly transformation into mulch at the Laramie landfill. This initiative not only eliminates the hassle of strapping a tree to one’s car roof but also contributes to a cleaner environment. \nWhat’s more\, this annual campaign serves a dual purpose. The $10 donation goes beyond tree disposal—it directly supports the community’s essential needs. Contributions will be directed towards providing shelter\, utilities\, and food to those facing challenges\, embodying the principle of neighbors helping neighbors help other neighbors. \nResidents are encouraged to place their trees on the curb by January 3rd\, with tree pickups commencing on the same day (weather permitting). It’s important to note that there are no specific scheduled pick-up days this year. All levels of bird watchers\, including feeder watchers\, are welcome. After checking in at Coal Creek on Saturday morning (12/16) some teams will walk\, while others drive through the territory. Volunteers should wear warm\, layered clothing and boots\, and bring water\, snacks and binoculars (if available). Group potluck following\nthe event (more info provided at registration).

DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to join in National Wreaths Across America Day\, December 16\, to help place wreaths on Veteran graves at Laramie’s Greenhill Cemetery. This year\, the Jacques Laramie Chapter Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) joined with VFW Post 2221\, WyoTech\, other Laramie Businesses and organizations and countless individual donors to raise funds to purchase 1\,000 wreaths to place on graves. Opening ceremonies begin at 11 am at the GAR monument followed by laying of the wreaths. Arrangements were made for the wreaths to be placed at Arlington National Cemetery. The placement of wreaths on gravesites acknowledges the empty space at so many family tables representing a veteran who has been lost\, and honors their service to this nation.
