On Tuesday, January 20th, please join the Albany County Historical Society at 7:00pm at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center at 6th & University in Laramie. Dave Marcum will present a program about the History of Pole Mountain Including Military Installations. The Pole Mountain area of the Medicine Bow National Forest is located north of Interstate 80 between Laramie and Cheyenne in Albany County. While we currently know the area primarily for recreational use and the uniqueness of its terrain, in the past the area was utilized by the military. Dave will present an overview of various military activities that occurred in the Pole Mountain area from 1900-1970. Free admission. Everyone is welcome! Refreshments will be served.
